Hi All,
Thanks for the reply. The tech from ASRock pointed me towards memory configurations, but after trying a few different combinations and brands, a new tech pointed me towards the CPU socket. Sure enough, there were a few bent pins on the CPU socket. Swapped the motherboad out, thanks Amazon, and the new one worked flawlessly. Not sure if I caused the issue or not, but when I build my next one, I'll check it out first! Thanks! |

I've had a few issues with ram on my Z170M Pro4S
It seemed to struggle with XMP Profiles and wouldn't post with more than 1 DIMM with default settings. Then, i've had to set the ram settings manually into the bios to make it work. I Think it's related to the low (and unchangeable) VCCIO

I would suggest inspecting CPU socket for bent pins. Maybe you are using an aftermarket cooler? Overtightening those, in exremely rare cases, are known to bent/warp skylake cpus or damage socket.
Have you tried using only one Ram slot? You are using iGPU? Maybe try dedicated GPU or vice-versa if possible. You could also try Clearing CMOS.

HELP!!
Brand new system. Nothing hooked up except power, installed CPU. If no memory, I get 3 long beeps. The CPU and system fans turn on. If I install memory, slots A2 & B2 or slots A1 & B1, I get no POST or anything. The CPU fans turn on, along with the power light, but nothing else. Nothing on DVI video. Hooked up a case speaker to hear any beeps. I've been building computers for 22-years, so not new at this, just not sure how to troubleshoot beyond where I am now. Next troubleshooting steps? Bare Config: ASRock Z170M Pro4s Intel i3-6100 3.7GHz LGA1151 PNY DDR4 2x8GB 2133MHz 1.2v EVGA 500W Power SilverStone Case Other Memory Tried: Kingston HyperX Fury HX421C14FB/8 (in A2 and A1), same result.
