   Hi,

My motherboard AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac will not use the AST280 240G M.2 as boot drive. I am able to install windows 10 on the drive. But cannot boot from it and get BSOD. Is it board problem or M.2? what else can I do now? Best regards |

   Dear Yannoss,

Greetings, this is ASRock TSD. According to your question, we provide some suggestions for verifying: 1. Please enter to BIOS setup and load BIOS default setting via [F9] key. 2. Under Advanced tab>Storage device, please check if the M.2 SSD is recognized. 3. Please press [F11] key during post screen to access Boot Menu; make sure the M.2 SSD is detected. If the M.2 SSD is detected by BIOS, this indicates there's no firmware or HW issue. Please try to re-install a clean Windows 10 OS to the M.2 SSD; If possible, please use another Windows 10 installation media to verify. Thanks! All the best, ASRock TSD |

So I was trying all these fixes but nothing. Personally what fixed it was the NVME Sanitation tool located in the BIOS. Run it with the format setting. If not, check the gen used by the SSD and the motherboard and configure accordingly.

If you are making full install of windows 10/11 it should be writing UEFI boot entries, but I would check that.
