    Posted: 29 Jul 2024 at 10:45pm
Hello,

I have purchased a new 5600g processor for my Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac motherboard, originally a 2400g was installed and everything ran without problems for many years. After the upgrade, the computer wouldn't boot until I found out it was only running with one memory installed.
Currently installed memory (2x8) is Corsair 16GB RAM KIT DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Vengeance RGB PRO (new) When the second memory is plugged in, the fan spins up but the BIOS does not boot. The board is loaded with the latest BIOS available on the website 10.08 [Beta]. I will be glad for any advice that will lead to a boot.

The base today is plugged into :
Ryzen 5600G
Corsair 16GB KIT DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Vengeance RGB PRO (new 2x8)
1xNVME 256GB
2x 128GB SATA RAID 0

Kind regards

Reset BIOS with one stick of memory. Boot into Windows. Shut down the computer. Insert the second memory stick. Boot into Windows. Enter UEFI and configure memory and other settings.

Long live AB350 Gaming-ITX! ;)

Hi, I tried the procedure unfortunately with no result. I tested the CPU 5600g in another motherboard and everything is running. With the original 2400g both memory are running. Any idea what to try ?

Are you doing everything exactly as I described? Are you booting into Windows every time? Sometimes the boot process can take several minutes and the computer may restart several times during that time.

Which step of this procedure are you unable to complete?

After plugging the 5600g cpu into the motherboard and turning on the power, the fans spin up running POST for about two minutes and then this process repeats without booting the BIOS. If one operating memory is inserted the system will boot. I have tested the processor in another X570 I AORUS ITX motherboard and it runs without problems.

I am doing exactly as described, will make a video this weekend.
I was still wondering if there will be a compatibility problem, because in the specification of supported cpu's it says 5600GT and I have a 5600G cpu ? I will be glad for any advice. :) Thanks

I don't think so, my processor isn't listed either ;)

On this page

https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B550M-ITXac/index.asp#BIOS

it is written "To support Ryzen 5000 G-series processors, it requires to update the BIOS with Matisse, Renoir or Vermeer CPU".

Maybe this applies for your MB also?
