Is this combo still working well for you? I just bought a Deskmini and really want to use a 7700k with it. -Jim

Wow, that's a long process to have images hosted on a third party site.
The Noctua NH-L9i indeed blows strongly on the VRM. The CPU heatsink fins make a 1 mm clearance from the VRM heatsink. They fit well with no contact. For more airflow, users of the L9i may consider upgrading from the 14 mm thick fan to the 25 mm thick fan. The combined heatsink and fan height would be 48 mm. Just making it into the case.

Instructions for posting pictures can be found here: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=19&FID=11&PR=3&title=how-to-post-picture-on-asrock-forum The thing that worried me about using the i7-7700K or i7-7600K with the H110M-STX board, is their potential power usage. Since the H110M-STX board uses the 19V power adapter instead of a standard ATX power supply, the board is responsible for regulating the 19V input to the 12V, 5V, and 3.3V rails used by a PC mother board and the other components. We can see the heatsink of the VRM module just above the CPU socket. I have a DeskMini 110W, and while the VRM module is well made, it is rather small due to the STX form factor of this board. My concern is the long term stress on the VRM module caused by the higher power usage of these CPUs. Hopefully your Noctua CPU cooler is moving air across the VRM heatsink. Apparently, ASRock is confident the VRM module is capable of supplying the required power, but I would still be careful to keep the VRM module cool. |

Yes, I have tried. The i7-7700K works perfectly well with the Deskmini 110 and runs stably. When stressing both the CPU and GPU at the same time, the CPU package power maxes out at 87.75 watts.
I bought the CPU second hand. It was already delidded by the first owner. The first owner applied Coolermaster MasterGel Pro on the inside (between die and heat spreader) and I applied Noctua's thermal paste on the outside. Cooling is handled by a Noctua NH-L9i with its stock 14 mm thick fan and has a idle temperature of 40°C and load temperature of 94°C (room temp about 29°C). Cinebench R15: 971 Passmark CPU Mark: 12407 Passmark CPU Single thread: 2642 No overclocking here, but the performance is already amazing and is slightly above Passmark's world average for the i7-7700K. I've got several screenshots, but I do not know how to upload it.

I was surprised that Asrock lists the i7-7700K (91 w) as a compatible CPU for the Deskmini 110.
Please see http://www.asrock.com/support/support.asp?Model=DeskMini%20110%20Series&cat=CPU http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H110M-STX/?cat=CPU If this support is indeed true and not a typo, what is the power adapter wattage needed to support the i7-7700K. The default adapter that comes with the Deskmini is 120 w. I think this would definitely not be sufficient. I think a 150 to 200 w power adapter would be more appropriate. What does Asrock say?

DeskMini and the Mini-STX board support for Kaby Lake was just announced by ASRock, and now shown on their main product site, including the UEFI/BIOS updates. This is the USA website:

Yes, it will. The news about this just hit ASRock's Facebook page today.
