Hi. I just received my new X99 Professional Gaming i7 mobo and it appears to be DEAD. I plugged everything and the motherboard is unfortunately dead.
I used just the basics: CPU Intel i7 6850K RAM Corsair 4GB 2133 CL15 VGA Randeon HD5770 I didn't connect anything else..... Although it seams to be getting power, the mobo doesn't make any noise, the Q-Code doesn't display anything, and the CPU doesn't get warm at all. I tried everything, like changing slots for the RAM and the VGA, repositioning the CPU but nothing happens....just the fans of the cpu cooler work. Another interesting thing is the keyboard that is connected to the usb 2.0 port, doesn't light up. Neither the Num Lock, nor the Caps Lock....like no power is coming out of the port at any time. I also tried BIOS No.2, CMOS clear, removing the battery.... I don't know what else to do or try.... Please HELPppp Thanks |

Make sure your 8 pin CPU power connector is properly connected and not a PCIe 8 pin power connector by accident. Even if the CPU or board are dead the CPU should get warm (hot) if the power is connected correctly and the system powers up (fans spinning). If the cables are connected correctly then try another PSU.

![]() ![]() This gets my vote for being overlooked by the OP. A Classic example of no CPU power. Edited by wardog - 10 Dec 2016 at 10:38pm |

Thanks for the reply.
I have a CoolerMaster 1000W Silent Pro PSU. I connected both ATX 8-Pin power cables and I had the same result. Nothing. The PCIe cables are 6-Pin + 2-Pin + 6-Pin. Unfortunately.... Edited by komixboy - 10 Dec 2016 at 10:46pm |

Is the PSU new? Meaning never used before, and known to work? If you have another PSU, try that. |

Hi...This week I sent my mobo and cpu to be checked and it was the CPU with the problem. It was replaced and I just received my new i7 6850K.
No problems now and everything works great. I have a question though....Is it possible to raid 2 NVMe drives? I have 2x Samsung PM961 256GB... Thanks again for the help |
