First time poster and concerned citizen
I just purchased the AsRock c236 wsi mITX server board after extensive research and it is being sent as we speak from Amazon US as it is not available in Australia. My plan was for the Skylake E3-1245v5 processor based on reviews and builds I researched. I have not purchased the processor yet and discovered that Intel are releasing the Kaby Lake Xeon E3-1245v6 with upgraded video. I understand that a bios update is required to utilize the new generation of processors, but cannot find my motherboard on the list. The Kaby Lake Xeons do not seem to be released as yet, but would hate to buy Skylake and a few weeks later have the new processors available. Or find my board is not upgradable and a new version of the new c236 wsi mITX board compatible with Kaby Lake is released. Am I doomed to building a new computer with OLD technology? |

What I see is they were supposed to release 1Q 2017.
This site says they're in stock, yet I kinda don't believe that. Some Sellers are shady in listing product soon to arrive as In Stock to hook ya. But they've been in business for quite awhile now IIRC like 20+ yrs so might be worth an email or call before ordering. http://www.pcconnection.com/product/intel-xeon-e3-1245-v6-processor/bx80677e31245v6/33695267 If you would, keep me posted. |

So I went ahead and purchased this motherboard and want to point out a couple things and answer a couple of your questions (since ASROCK ignores support requests completely)
1. Right now, no, the C236 WSI does NOT support Kaby Lake CPU's. 2. There is listed a bios update under supported processors to enable support for them. 3. If you go to the download section, the P2.10 bios update is NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. 4. If you try to go to the FTP sites directly to find that update, directory listing is blocked. 5. You can NOT update the bios with a Kaby Lake CPU installed (it won't post at all). 6. ASRock doesn't answer support requests, so everything is at their own time. So if you need Kaby Lake on this board, you'll need to wait for them to post the bios update, and have a 6th gen CPU handy to post and flash the bios, that is, whenever ASRock actually posts the bios to be able to download it.

Hang tight for a few minutes. Let me see if I can grab this P2.10 BIOS you speak of. |

Ok. I just looked where it should be. I just sent an email to one of my contacts inside ASRock to look into this. He may post directly in this Thread or email me. When(if) he emails me I'll immediately post his response. |

Thanks for checking into this. I will be looking forward to if they get back to you.
I say IF because I have e-mails from almost a year ago (3 - 4 sent on the same subject) that they have never gotten back to me about the Z170 Extreme 7+ motherboard. It's almost like they got bored after the 5th e-mail and stopped responding completely. (When they were e-mailing, they were quite a bit of help.... Bios updates and bugs within bios revisions that I had found)

I know you guys are unpaid, which is one of the reasons it's so surprising to me that I can get an answer from you in under a couple hours, and ASRock's paid support ignores people constantly, especially when a request is coming from someone like me that buys thousands of dollars worth of their products....
Again, thank you for your time with this.
