Yes, you have FIRTS set your BIOS to SINGLE CORE then INSTALL WINDOWS and AFTER that rename the file and for LAST set BIOS to ALL CORES or DEFAULT SETTINGS.

Shouldn't be like this?:

1.- Enter bios

Rename File in Sys32 "mcupdate_GenuineIntel.dll"... then Install Win10? 

 or you Install Win 10 first and  then Rename file?... I am confused here.

8.- Boot from windows installation media and install normally

AVQPP's fix is working for me too (H97M-ITX/ac). Overclocking works too. Thanks for sharing!

I registered just to THANK the original poster of this fix. It is working for me! Now I have to see if I can downgrade the bios fix (which didn't work for me anyway), because I lost the ability to overclock.  (H81M-HDS motherboard).

Could you please explain how to  install  Win 10 on  1 Core; how to do that step by step? 
How to disable the other Core? in Bios?
Rename what to what?
