First, the X299 platform is very new and we don't have much experience with it. It will be a while before we know the actual limits of its memory over clocking potential, and which UEFI/BIOS settings to adjust to reach very high memory over clocks, in the +/- 4000 range. Any DDR4 memory OC approaching or at 4000 will not simply be one click XMP profile loading situations, and will take work to achieve, if it is even possible, sorry to say. With your Skylake-X processor, any memory speed over 2666 is a memory OC, and as it states in the Memory QVL list, not guaranteed. While your memory model is included in the board's Memory QVL list, that does not mean it is guaranteed to operate at 4133. If we check the Corsair mother board compatibility list for your memory, there are no listings for X299 boards. The highest memory speed I see in this list is with an ASRock Z170 OC Formula board, which is 3866. The rest of the boards in their list have memory speeds below 3866, and many of them at or below 3000 with this memory. Also, while the Corsair page states this memory is meant to be used with Intel 200 series chipset boards, there are zero 200 series chipset boards in this lists. Most of the boards listed are X99 boards. So contradictory specs from Corsair. Check the Download link on the page below to see this list: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vengeance-lpx-32gb-4x8gb-ddr4-dram-4133mhz-c19-memory-kit-red-cmk32gx4m4e4133c19r If the PC boots at 4000, but then freezes, that is still a good sign. You may be able to get 4000 stable with some tweaking, or 3866. The memory is in the A1, B1, C1, and D1 slot, correct? DRAM voltage is at least 1.4V with the XMP profile selected? Rather high now of course, you may need to increase it to 1.42 - 1.43V. Question, when you select the XMP profile, what BCLK frequency do you get? Next, with the XMP profile selected, in the UEFI/BIOS, Voltage Configuration screen, find the VCCIO and VCCSA voltage settings, and tell us what they are. You can try increasing them by ~0.5V. There are new voltage options in the manual related to memory that I've never seen in the past, so some research on those might help. You should have these options in DRAM Configuration set as follows while testing your memory over clocks: Memory Test: Enable MemTestLoops: Whatever the default value is, but if zero set to at least one. If you find a Memory Training option, set it to Enabled. Note that all of the memory testing and training settings when enabled, will cause the PC startup time to be slower, that is normal. Once you get a stable memory OC, you can then disable them one by one, verifying stability after each one. You should NOT be using the Fast Boot option in the Boot screen, and all of the Fast Boot options in DRAM Configuration should be Disabled, except Memory Test on Fast Boot, either Auto or Enabled. It's useful to set the main memory timing options to Auto rather than specific values, and let the UEFI select them, which can result in better memory stability. You should also ask in Corsair's forum what they suggest for the memory settings when used with X299 systems. There is a new Beta UEFI/BIOS, 1.40A, that MIGHT improve the memory over clocking ability with your memory. |

I have the x299 fatility gaming i9 mother with intels new 7900 10 core cpu and bought corsairs new 4133mhz memory for it as in your memory listings it shows its fine to use, I have updated the bios to the latest version 1.40, and it only shows 4200 and not 4133, when i try to use the xmp profile my pc wont boot, when i selext 4200 it wont boot, when i select 4000 it will boot but will then my pc will freeze 5 mins later, the only setting i can get this memory to run at is 3200, what is going on, how can you list this memory as fine to run when it can ????? memory is 4 lots of 8gm sticks which is propperly place in the right slots for quad channel, the memory is cmk32gx4m4e4133c19r.
Hope some one can help me out here. |
