Torakk, W10 comes with DirectX 12.  I suspect that is not a problem.  I was hoping something, like bus speed, would pop up.  Please look at the sensor data and make sure that all makes sense.  Also post the URL where you DLed the failing game so I can DL it and check the hash codes for you.  Thanks and enjoy, John.

If other applications/games work as they should, the game reinstall is a good idea to test if maybe it got corrupted. You seem to be on the ball with figuring this out, let us know how the reinstall goes.

Torakk, I can't seem to discover how to DL a trial copy.  The estimated DL size is 4.67 MB - 113.73 GB which sounds like many options and it also looks like that I would need to sign-in which I do not want to do.
DirectX 12 is listed as a minimum as is W10 x64.  Sorry I have not been helpful.  Good luck, John.

I don't think you have a pcie bus issue, but to be sure you can use HWinfo64 to check that.

When the GPU is idle, the Pcie link speed on HWinfo will show as 3, and under load it would show as 8.

Also, on nVidia control panel set High Performance as power plan and test. Check if the games you are having trouble do not have some sort of frames per second cap.

The fact your GPU usage is limited on certain games, but not on benchmarks is really weird to trobleshoot :-(

On my system I only see this behaviour when I cap FPS in purpose on certain games.

I Did just that on my last run, set Nvidia control panel to Prefer max performance and also OC'd the card lightly (125mhz) set evga precision to a power target of 112pct.

As yet its only been gears 4 ..both the game which locked up after ~10min and the built in benchmark which shows GPU usage start high then drop to like 30pct by the end..

I have also been using Winaero which has a version of the Windows experience Index?...That shows my desktop graphics at an 8.2 , but my 3D business and gaming graphics performance is a 9.9, that first one has changed in all this...at one point is was 4.9 and once it was 9.1 or so but seems to have settled at the 8.2.

Yea that 113gb is what I took 12hrs to download the other day( . Which has me really not wanting to need to do that again if possible

just ran same WEI tool on the 1070/8320e system and there it pulled a 9.2 for desktop gfx and the same 9.9 for 3d games etc...

Why a lower score for the desktop gfx vs 3d games /business ..on both systems seems odd but the lower score on the Taichi tells me something can't be right somewhere.

Will DL Heaven and a few more benchmarks and see how it does on some other games as well
