Hi guys, i'm planning to buy this MB but i saw that i need to choose the memory very well.
Then I check the memory QVL and get confused.
What is the difference about 4pcs and v means?
Can anyone provide some information about it, thanks.

Hi Johusan,

It is good to see you doing 'proper planning' for your upcoming system build.

If you look near the top of the QVL Memory page it gives the following info:

Note1: 4PCS= dual channel, supports 4 modules
Note2: 2PCS = tested successfully with 2 modules

So there is the answer to the first part of your question.

The answer to your second part, is only speculative.

The 'v' could likely mean 'verifying' in one column and possibly 'verified' in another column. Also it could mean something else entirely....

I believe the "v" designation means they tested that kit using the full 8 dimm population

Dear Johusan,

Greetings, this is ASRock TSD.

About v and xpcs let us explain to you.
For example, if Quad Channel display 4pcs it means the memory could only install in A1, B1, C1, D1 (total 4pcs) with Quad Channel.
But if it display v it means the memory could install in A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1, D2 (total 8pcs) with Quad Channel.

Besides, the memory on the website are verified and tested in our lab, so we strongly suggest referring our QVL to choose the suitable memory.

Thanks!

All the best,
ASRock TSD
