X370 Gaming/itx & NVMe Raid 0 With the forthcoming Vega enabled APUs, I have been thinking about NVMe Raid 0 on my x370 Gaming/itx. Would it be bootable with an add-in card like Asrock?™s Ultra Quad M.2 Card? I know the x370 Gaming/itx supports Bifurcation to a 8x/8x level. The Ultra Quad M.2 card doesn?™t have any switches onboard, so would m.2 ports 1 and 3 (on the add-in) work for this request? Is this something that has ever been considered? |

ChinStrap, I have been following many of the RAID problems (X399) and continue working with AMD on issues. I will be glad to try to assist you if you tell me what you are attempting. Please see here ( https://community.amd.com/community/gaming/blog/2017/10/02/now-available-free-nvme-raid-upgrade-for-amd-x399-chipset ) for AMD bragging when they first introduced the NMVe RAID support for X399 - used PCIe card with several NVMe SSDs. I have no knowledge of X370 support for NVMe RAID, but will take a look (only have X399 to test on). Enjoy, John.

X370 NVMe Raid.
Pretty much what I was looking for. Thank you for the time. I still plan on digging around. Who knows, maybe I can get it to work. If not, I guess i'll have to live w/ my 960 Evo's current performance. 100% 1st world problem here. Thanks again.

ChinStrap, I DLed the instructions and Floopy drivers from my X370FPG board page (no longer have) and it has the same instructions for the X370 as for my current X399. The drivers are older. I am still searching and learning but how about a quick test? I wrote and used a simple step-by-step to create my RAID0 - my current boot device. Please see my signature for my specifications. If you can give two NVMe drives (will be erased/formatted) to the test, then please try creating an array using these instructions:
EDIT: Is the "The Ultra Quad M.2" for sale anywhere? Any other cards like this for sale? Edited by MisterJ - 13 Jan 2018 at 6:21am |

thank you for the update, x370 gaming/itx bios does NOT list NVMe raid mode and the Bifurcation setting is only 8x/8x. |

ChinStrap, I have asked AMD support in my continuing conversation on RAID about X370 RAID support and will let you know what I learn. I am not familiar with Bifurcation mode but will take a look. Enjoy, John.

AMD says NVMe support should be available soon for X370, waiting on BIOS from board vendors. It should look very much like X399. Please open a ASRock ticket and see if you can get them going. Thanks and enjoy, John. |
