I am days away from commencing a build based on the x299E-ITX/ac motherboard.

The computer will be doing two things:

1) Access, manipulate and search a database of about 100 gigs using Logos bible study software; and,

2) stream search results in HD.

What I am worrying about is this.

I am having trouble figuring out what I can expect out of the m.2 connector on the top of the motherboard which goes through the chipset/DMI.  The computer will have two HD cameras providing video streams through the USB ports and will be using a 4k webcam, again, through the chipset.

Will the DMI cause a slowdown for a fast ssd (like the samsung 960 pro) or it is just fine to put the ssd through the connector on top of the board???

I guess I am asking about what effect I can expect from the top m.2 connector???

Thanks all...
Rob
