New build:
Ab350 pro4 A6-9500 cpu to use for bios update for ryzen 2200 Gskill f4-3200c16d-8gtzb (not on compatibility list) Same issue here: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=7731&KW=A6-9500&PID=45411&title=ab350-pro4-dead-motherboard#45411 Knowing the ram was not on the compatibility list, i was hoping to get lucky since the 16gtzb was on the list. I just didnt need 16gb of ram. Should i try to replace the ram first? I having the same symptoms as link above. |

My own experience is that I have more than enough trouble with things that are on the compatibility list, without risking things that are not! Try clearing the CMOS and booting with just one stick of RAM at a time.

I will never make the mistake of straying from the compatibility list again, that's for sure. Now I have more variables for troubleshooting than desired. I cleared CMOS ( removed battery & switched CMOS jumper) for approximately 20 minutes. Ill try it a couple more times with just a single stick of ram. Will update as soon as possible. Thanks for the reply, JohnM.

Cleared CMOS again and tried a single stick of ram in all possible combinations. Still no POST. Im going to buy some ram off the compatibility list to rule that out and also a new processor just in case. Will update when possible.

I purchase the new components a few hours ago. Then i decided to do a CMOS clear again. This time, i let it clear for 4 hours. That did the trick. Now I need to cancel my order. Thanks for the help JohnM!

There is a thread on this forum that suggest 4 hours to completely rule out bios corruption. But after further investigation of my problem, quite embarrassed i may add, I'm pretty sure everything was ok from the get go. I was using a dvi cable at home while diagnosing the problem. Turns out the cable is faulty. I took the pc to work and performed the extra CMOS clears and then hooked it up to the dvi monitor at work. That's when I thought I had fixed everything. Brought it back home and no video. Swapped to a HDMI on my tv and it worked. This whole crisis could have been avoided if i did some simple troubleshooting first. Also it doesn't help that the default for the system speaker was off. I figured i would have heard some sort of beep sequence. If this gets stickied as "dummy of the year", i wouldn't be surprised.

And answer to your question yes, it POSTs in dual channel as well. Ram works fine, but not to full potential. Currently at 2133 instead of 3200. Even after flashing bios to 4.63. Will play around some to increase it.

Never mind. The fact that you can admit your mistakes is a good thing and maybe it will help someone else with a similar problem. I'm glad you sorted it out in the end.
