I still have random freezes with 2400G on new BIOS 4.90.
More over, when freezes issue occurred, I can't reboot or turn on the system normally. I need to turn off PSU and wait about 3-5 minutes to turn on the system again. Hope if any one can give some workaround solution here :( |

No, adding more regular fans didn't help. I tried different positioning: vrm, soc, southbridge. Nothing worked. Four hours uptime and the crashes begin. Not cold enough? I'm certainty not using air conditioner again! It's freezing! Linux is more verbose in it's error reporting. I sometimes got:
This is PCIe protocol failure which could imply that something PCIe-related is malfunctioning. Ethernet, audio or USB controller? I believe something must have degraded over the first two weeks (just as my free return period ended!). Thermal pads maybe? Or some kind if thermal paste? Or something melted? Anyway. I waited for BIOS 4.9, I tried various things, but it's been over three months already. I give up. I replaced this board with Gigabyte B350 and it's working very well. Current uptime is 40 hours. -- When told the guy at a computer store, that I needed a new motherboard, because my old one failed me, he actually laughed(!) at me for buying ASRock in the first place.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems. I had a Gigabyte board for 9 years and it was still working as advertized when replaced by this board, just getting a little overwhelmed by modern O.S.s and software. We also have an Asrock FM2 board which has been in service for several years with no issues which is why I bought this board. I was looking at other B350 boards and found a Gigabyte model on NewEgg that was having boot and freezing issues though they didn't seem so plentiful as the AB350M PRO4. I wonder if there's something in the B350 chipset or the manufacturing processes that are marginal -- most work but too many don't. It'll be interesting to see how the B450 boards entering the market fare. There is a post somewhere above which mentions suspicion about the PCIe and/or USB buses. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed.
