I bought Kingston HyperX 1866 DDr3 and found I had issues using it on the Performance 970. So much so I bought a ASUS board.
Well the ASUS board has failed, I am doing a new build and the choices for a AM3+ Motherboard with M.2 socket is only the two Performance 970 boards I already bought. As far as I know; well, there is ebay where I can spend $600 for a AM3+ m.2 motherboard now. So What memory can I buy that will make the 970 Performance happy? |

Where do I start?
For 600 USD you will get a brand new Ryzen + mobo + RAM. Why do you care about AM3+? Also, the M.2 is NOT a NVMe capable slot, so basically you have a fancy SATA port. |

You could start by answering my question.
I am waiting on the Ryzen upgrade for Gen 3 or even Gen 4. |

Well, you should start by learning some damn English grammar, so people can actually understand what is the real question, but that is none of my business.
Ryzen 3 is coming rather soon, so maybe it's worth the wait. AMD are also keeping AM4 till 202, so a current-gen mobo should serve you well anyway. |

Well, allow me to restate the question.
What brand of DDR3 does the ASRock 970 Performance work well with? Kingston HyperX seems to cause it problems. |

The Dram mode goes into single channel mode and motherboard never beeps on boot.
This is dual channel 1866 mhz dram. |

I had a great times back in the day with the so called Radeon RAM. It was some OEM memory, branded as Radeon.
I was running 4x4GB @ 2133MT/s, but again, it was on a A88X board. |

When in doubt, one should stick to QVL. I doubt you'd get quick and accurate responses anyhow, as this mobo of yours is quite dated (if I can use this term here).

Yes I can see I may have to wait for an informed answer and advice. Perhaps a long time as you point out. |

You can also check the QVL on the RAM product page to make sure it lists AM3+ support. G-Skill is pretty good with it's QVL lists. Generally speaking, if any ASRock 970 based board is listed you should be good to go. |
