"What is wrong with the 1.70 BIOS? Why do you want to update?"

I have RAM 3200 running as 2900 and I think newstes BIOS better working for RAM.

If you believe running your RAM at 3200 just by loading XMP and getting no new other problems, happy lottery adventure with the new bios.

You should learn, how to clock your RAM manually (the DRAM calculator, the related documentation can help)

I don't think this solve the issues (low chance to POST, low chance to wake from sleep and very low chance to post after turning off the PSU and cutting the motherboard's power) (hope is really down) because my current PSU was working well with a Ryzen 5 1600 and the my previous build (i5 4590).

But at least I'm going to try. (If it doesn't work I'll probably return the PSU, though is better than my current lower tier Enermax).

Anyway, I'm doing this because ASRock Support recommended me to try with a new PSU.

Since I've replaced the PSU (yesterday) I stopped having random POST issues that were turning on/off the PC before the ASRock logo shows on screen.

And also the Wake from sleep problem seem to be fixed. Left my PC sleeping for 7 hours and woke up successfully.
Also left it sleeping a few times for more than 30 minutes without issues.

I tried out the new v5.50 BIOS on the X370 Killer SLI but the CMOS wouldn't remember any changes I made so I downgraded to v5.40 again. It took a couple of boot loops but finally my system booted again.

I have 2 Asrock motherboards and 2 Ryzen CPUs.

My experience so far:

AB350 Pro4 BIOS 6.00 + AMD Ryzen 1700
- no issues

AB350 Pro4 BIOS 6.00 + AMD Ryzen 3700X
- won't POST, fans spin at 100%, no beeps

B450M Pro4 BIOS 3.60 + AMD Ryzen 1700
- no issues

B450M Pro4 BIOS 3.60 + AMD Ryzen 3700X
- cold boots are OK (but slow)
- it's not possible to make any changes in the BIOS - even changing the fan profile to silent and rebooting will cause the system not to POST and requires clearing the CMOS
- 3200 MHz RAM only works in single channel mode, dual channel won't POST

About 3 weeks ago, I submitted a report using the Support Request Form and only got the automatic email reply and nothing else.

I hope these issues will be sorted soon by a properly tested BIOS release.

Getting beyond the joke really.

Still no evidence of anyone booting reliably with a B450 gaming itx and a 3600?
Anyone remember "support for am4 socket through to 2020?"

Yes, but we have 2019...
In 2020 all will be fine

Might be just as well to buy new mobo and keep existing PSU. Does MSI and Gigabyte have same issues with x400 chipset ?

Hi there,

all issues described here seem to be with the X370 or B450 chipset.

How about the X470?

I wanna build a new computer and I intend to combine a X470 Taichi with a Ryzen 7 3700X.

Anyone here with experience in that combination?
