hello guys, I'm having a problem with the cpu in object and the fatality b450 4k, bios version 3.21
3.9 Ghz does not pass at the beginning of a bench or CPU stress test, while before it has stabilized at 4.2 Ghz. How is it possible? are there known solutions? sorry for my English thanks |

Your CPU has a base clock of 3.6 GHz and a boost clock of 4.2 GHz
If all cores are under 100% load, each core should reach at least 3.6 GHz. 3.9 GHz points to a load mix a bit under 100%, so the clock can go higher. 4.2 GHz can be reached if at least one core is under heavy load but the others are stressed lower. This is a dynamic game and how much cores can reach 4.2 Ghz at the same time depends on the temperature, the voltage, the current and the quality of the cores. You can start a 100% load program pinned to one core, check the clock of this core, start the same program pinned to the next core and check the clock and so on. You can watch the behavior of the CPU with HWInfo. And if you want more infos to your specific finding, post a screen shot of HWInfo before the bench, while in the bench and after it. |

before updating the bios, at the start of the bench the cores were stable and fixed at 4.2 Ghz .

The bios version 1.80 with AGESA PinnaclePi_1.0.0.6 should be the best for your Ryzen 5 2600X.
Bios version 3.21 got the "Enhance AMD XFR 2.0 function; change AMD PBO rule with Pinnacle CPU", but it is based on AGESA Combo-AM4 1.0.0.1, which is for Matisse. Beside the clock differnce, do you have any problems with the 3.21? The XFR and PBO rule changes will be the reason for your new clocking behavior. Do you get lower results in different benchmarks? |

no, I do not find stability problems, it seems to work all right, only the limited clock during the bench test and any stress test.
I updated from 1.8 for high temperature compared to previous versions. it seems impossible to go back to version 1.80 or earlier "*** The user will not be able to flash the previous BIOS after updating to this BIOS version." |

hello, I'm back after restoring bios to 1.80 thanks to support. the problem persists, it doesn't go beyond the 3.9Ghz in the bench other person on toms italy forum, with b450 gaming 4k but ryzen 3600 finds same problems. my hardware: XPG ASX8200PNP nvme ssd 860evo b450 gaming 4k ryzen 5 2600X + artic freezer 33 export edition geforce 2070 super 2X8 ddr4 corsair vegance CMK16GX4M2B3200C16. I thought it was due to the bios but this is not the case. Differences from previous tests where it rose regularly to 4.2Ghz: I replaced ssd sata main with nvme, made a new installation of windows 10 with the latest drivers available. cpu temperature never above 66 ° C under same now that is limited to 3.9Ghz Can new amd chipset drivers for b450 cause this? |
