Greetings! on x470taichi when switching from 3.77 to 3.78, the settings were reset. Saved profile does not apply. Is that all?

Question: Why with the newer BIOS "Update AMD AGESA Combo-AM4 1.0.0.4 Patch B"
does ASRock have the following disclaimer?

*ASRock do NOT recommend updating this BIOS if Pinnacle, Raven, Summit or Bristol Ridge CPU is being used on your system.

I don't see these kinds of disclaimers on other vendors websites so it leaves me to wonder.

Aren't the BIOS supposed to be backward compatible? What problems will you have if you update and run BIOS with a Pinnacle Ridge CPU?

it works unless it explictly says so

asrock doesn't recommend it because it doesn't have any benefit to older cpu

I updated to bios 3.20 from 1.80 on my B450 Pro4 and now the addressable RBG doesn't work right in bios and Polychrome doesn't seem to change the it at all. I wanted to see if it still worked with my Ryzen 2700X before I put in a 3rd gen Ryzen. I may have to test out the other M.2 slot and other things. Has anyone ran 3800X or 3900X on any Asrock B450?

I also have two PC's with B450 Pro4 full ATX and I have a 2600X in one of them, running on BIOS 3.60, no problems at all. I am using the U.2 M.2 slot (NVMe, Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB) as my boot drive, Win 10 Pro 64bit. Klevv Bolt (Essencore) 3000 CL15 running in XMP at CL16, 8GB RAM in 2 x 4GB, dual channel mode. Powercolor Red Devil 5700XT with RGB lighting controllable with the Powercolor software (awesome card, no coil whine, quiet). 4K 55" Seiki TV for gaming :)

I read that Polychrome RGB works properly on the latest BIOS (3.60 and above) but doesn't work properly on some older BIOS's.

My other B450 Pro4 full ATX has 2400G and Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3000 CL15 in XMP at CL16, 16GB in 2 x 8GB dual channel, ICue works great to control it's RAM RGB and my Corsair Keyboard's RGB. Vega 56 undervolted and overclocked (Sapphire Pulse, another awesome card, quiet and no bad coil whine). AOC 32" VA monitor in 1440p via DP. Crucial MX500 SATA port 2.5" 1TB boot drive. Also on BIOS 3.60, Win10 Pro 64bit, no issues.

Later on when prices drop I would like to grab a 3600X. I didn't yet because from what I read here I may have problems with the 3xxx series but I hope not. At least 3.60 Bios works great for me with the 2xxx series that I have already.

Regards
AG
