New x470 Taichi won't post

I certainly hope it's not that, but that will be close to the only option if my final attempt doesn't work tomorrow: I'm replacing the RAM sticks entirely, as someone helpfully pointed out they weren't QVL listed and selecting from that list might make it work.

At one point I assumed the motherboard was defective, and have thus ordered a new one and have it on the way, so at least if that's the case I'll have an alternative at the ready.

So UPDATE
After a lot of trouble, I got a setup that by all rights should be working. The setup is here:

Motherboard: ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate

CPU: RYZEN 5 2600

GPU: Sapphire Radeon Pulse RX 5500 XT

Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB)

PSU: Antec NeoECO 620W

Storage: Samsung 860 QVO 1TB Solid State Drive

Case: NZXT H510

I 've double and triple checked all cable placements and component seating. I went to power it on and got the red-light post code 'b0' or '60', plus a continuous cycle of the machine powering up, the LEDs starting a slow pulse while the screen stayed dark, a moment of the fans whirring, and then the machine powering off, only to power itself back on again. This continued indefinitely until I turned off the power myself.

This is the exact same problem I had when I tried to make it work with the r5 3600, and I thought the problem was the lack of BIOS update but the only difference now is that there was no error code when it did this for the 3600.

Your situation and symptoms are different beekermartin, in this case it appears
to be a simple case of an unsupported CPU (both of the ones tried). The 61 error
code is to do with RAM, more particularly, the system not recognizing the IMC on the
CPU because the BIOS doesn't support it. I suspect this is why AMD wanted to can
support for the 400 series and earlier with their next generation of Ryzen CPUs.
It can't be cost effective having to send out boot kits to everyone who needs them.

Thanks for everyone's help! At this point I returned all CPUs and I'm just going to get an R5 2600; I know that one works and I can deal with the lesser performance, it'll still be a big jump up from the FX 6300 I was using before.

second to what xaltar has advised you
stick to
1600/1700 etc etc WITHOUT the af code
or a normal 2nd gen ryzen 2600/2700x etc
