Saving settings to disk does not work, Crucial 3600 RAM working with the previous BIOS at 3733 MHz does not work even on XMP settings - the system does not start. Many settings have disappeared from the Advanced \ AMD CBS \ menu. I went back to version 2.60.

I had the same problems when I upgraded my X570 Extreme4 to 2.80. I have also reverted to 2.60

Dude same here, the newest BIOS for the X570 Taichi is an absolute disaster.

Won't even post on QVL'ed 3600MHz RAM running at 3600MHz (all I did was enable XMP). Have to clear CMOS, try again, and it boots at 2133. Even then, I can't even spend 30 seconds in the operating system without it crashing and then being a PITA to get to post again.

I even had to use another computer to load the previos BIOS onto my flash drive, clear CMOS, have everything at stock, and then I was able to flash to the previous BIOS. And on the X570 Taichi as well, most of the settings have been removed on the newest BIOS, including some that are critical to my system's stability (like setting the Power Supply Idle to "Typical Current Idle," which is required for the best stability on some Zen 2 CPUs).

How can we report this to ASRock? It doesn't seem like a Technical Support form situation, but if it is, I'll gladly fill one out.

@Mastercry

I got a 2700X and installed it on the B450 Gaming K4 P4.20, everything is as with a Matisse CPU or exactly as shown on the screenshot before.

Hello,

I've updated my X570M Pro4 to BIOS 2.90 (from 2.60). Everything seems fine except most AMD CBS options have been removed. I don't need many of them, only one in fact, which I found very useful:

AMD CBS > NBIO Common Options > SMU Common Option > Max Voltage Offset

Description: "Limit maximum CPU voltage for compact coolers, small form factor or performance tuning"

This is not the same as setting a Voltage Offset in OC Tweaker which can cause clock stretching.

"Max Voltage Offset" limits the voltage that Precision Boost is allowed to use by up to 100mv, which lowers max boost clock speeds slightly. I'm using quite a small case and it reduced my temps by 10C to 12C and allowed me to run fans slower, making my system silent under full load.

I hope it can be added back!
Thanks

Hi all, many apologies if this has been answered already but I went through the thread and couldn't find a definitive answer.

I currently have a 2700X running in an X470 Taichi which came with 3.60 preinstalled. I have had some minor issues with memory (had to slacken the tRC to run at XMP speed, can't seem to achieve any memory OC beyond that), and am wondering if a change in BIOS might help or if 3.6 might in any way be affecting performance or stability with this combo.

So three questions, I guess. Is this likely to be a factor?; Are later BIOS versions okay to try with this combo (2700X/X470 Taichi)?; and if not would it be beneficial to try downgrading to 3.50?

Thanks :)
