Hi, actually 90c in prime95 is perfectly fine, this is by AMD's design. Even when I'm gaming I have a few spikes to 80-83 sometimes but my idle temps are between 34-37. This is coming from AMD's Robert Hallock. Check out this article: https://www.pcgamer.com/amd-views-ryzen-5000-cpu-temperatures-up-to-95c-as-typical-and-by-design/ ""Yes. I want to be clear with everyone that AMD views temps up to 90C (5800X/5900X/5950X) and 95C (5600X) as typical and by design for full load conditions. Having a higher maximum temperature supported by the silicon and firmware allows the CPU to pursue higher and longer boost performance before the algorithm pulls back for thermal reasons," Hallock said." |

Does anyone here have the same board as me with the same bios 4.70 and they also have resizeable bar enabled, and if so are there any issues with games? Just asking because 4.70 was taken down and it's still not back up.

Before 5800x I had 2700 (non X) so I was very surprised seeing this temperatures.
I already started to search AIO 360mm but maybe for now I will stay with my air cooler. Thanks for reply. |

I can confirm that my:
X470 Taichi (non-ultimate) with 2700x and 16GB (2x8) Team Group 8-Pack Dark Pro Worked overclocked OK on a much older BIOS, but when I put 4.70 on there, in advance of changing out the CPU, I couldn?™t get anything above 2400. Neither XMP or manually overclocking the ram would stick. I tried for a few hours out of interest without success. No matter what I did, the system just restarts until it gives up and resets back to 2400 before booting. I then installed a 5800x and the XMP profile worked immediately when selected without any issues at all. Wow this CPU is fast compared to the 2700x, very happy with the upgrade |

Hello, I am looking to purchase the 5950x for my x470 taichi ultimate. Are you having success with the mobo and cpu combination? Is the 4.70 bios still working for you?

Also, do you have to incrementally update your bios? or can you directly go to 4.70.

Unless the instructions on your product page explicitly mention updating to a
bridge BIOS first you can just update directly to the latest one. In your case: 1. Support new Athlon 2xxGE series APU. 2. Update AMD AGESA to 0.0.7.2 * Please install "AMD all in 1 with VGA driver ver:18.50.16.01_WHQL" or a later version before updating to this BIOS. ** If you updated the BIOS before updating the AMD all in one driver, please refer to the Display recovery SOP to recover your system. *** If the current BIOS version is older than P2.00, please update BIOS to P2.00(PinnaclePI-AM4_1.0.0.6) before updating this version. **** User will not able to flash previous BIOS once upgrading to this BIOS version. So if your BIOS version is pre 2.00 then you will have to update to 2.00 first, reboot, clear CMOS, reboot again then update to the version you are aiming for. If your BIOS is newer than 2.00 then you should be able to just update to 4.70. I always recommend clearing CMOS or restoring factory defaults from within the UEFI and rebooting before updating to a new BIOS version. It helps prevent bad flashes/corruption. Hello everyone!
I want to install Ryzen 5 5600X in X470 Taichi. What version of Bios do you recommend for this: 4.60 or 4.70? |
