Yes I am with you and I had considered that Fresh Install Option but decided otherwise since I am running a Fuze drive solution from Enmotus (equivalent to AMD StoreMi)and they were recomemdning to just deactivate and reactivate the licence in case of the Fats drive not being the one where the OS is installed
I did update the Chipset drivers since I was moving from B350 to B550 anyway, and also DDU my Radeon drivers and installed the latest ones after that. All the other HW devices had no issues, just the Audio one I will try to remove Realtek/Nahimic entirely and just run through Windows HDA to see if that works but this kind of kills some of the benefit of the Audio feature coming with the MB thanks for your advice |

update/reinstall chipset drivers and then go into device manager and uninstall sound drivers .. remove drivers if it gives you the option and then reboot and let windows reinstall the sound drivers and see if problem persists .. might help .. might not ..
ideally, a fresh install is always best when swapping out major components .. especially similar major components where the same driver can be used but some things might be a bit off like what you are experiencing. I've kept same install going from Intel to AMD where everything is completely different ..so totally different drivers used and I was able to get away with it unscathed .. anyhoo .. hopefully you can get it sorted out |

is this a fresh install or just using same Win10 install carried over from previous motherboard?

I hear you.The frustration for me is that its the 1st time I am having such Audio issue on any PCs I have built over the years.
I moved from an Asrock B350 with very basic audio feature set and codec where I didnt have any problem to output 5.1 sound, to a more premium B550 board with improved codec and upgraded jack connections. So for me without any doubt I was hoping to experience even better sound and features. Would you say the issue is with Microsoft, realtek or Asrock themselves? |

Relying on drivers for functionality outside of "common use" is a pain.
I have always had to use either additional software or an external decoder (amp) to get full 5.1 or 7.1 audio out of my systems with things like youtube etc. It's a typical case of the hardware only being part of the equation. The software also needs to support and output the necessary channels to your speakers. Most video/audio software comes with features to enable multi channel output but things like youtube and other online browser based video/audio sources need either additional software/external hardware or a browser extension. I know google chrome has several 5.1/7.1 extensions that force output to all speakers. Edited by Xaltar - 08 Sep 2020 at 2:15pm |

thanks for your reply. The Problem is how to figure out which driver includes the "Speaker Fill" feature because I have no clue.
What I found out yesterday is that with Games that support 5.1, if I switch Nahimic ON then my surround system output sound from all speakers so thats good. But with Youtube or Music content, no joy.Sound output remains only from the Stereo front speakers. I have done some more brainstorming and testing, and found out that using an audio mixer software like Voicemeeter allows me to output sound from all speakers in any situation but its not the most practical Option |

Unfortunately the " Realtek Audio Manager" is not in every driver update. Therefore install the last known version of the driver first, where you know for sure that it is included and then update it.
Does your "audio source" even have 5.1 sound? |

Hello
I replaced my B350 PRO4 with a B550M Steel legend few week ago. Happy with the product that allowed me t push my RAM OC further, and to have the upgraded Audio feature provided by this board was a must. However I am facing a headache issue. I am using a 5.1 surround system through the jacks connection on the board but I acnt output sound from the Rear, center and subwoofer. Only the front stereo speakers play sound. I am using the Audio drivers+Nahimic package form asrock website so setting things through the Audio console in the latest Windows 10 build.I Can not find an Option for "speaker Fill" that used to be on the old Realtek audio Manager. But doing the Test tone in Windows sound panel, I can hear sound being played from each speaker. Any idea how I could fix this problem? Thanks so much |
