Dear,
This may be the wrong place for this kind of question, so do redirect me if needed. So I bought the ASRock B450M Pro4 a while ago and insterted the Intel 660p 1TB M.2 SSD. This works fine, now I received a Samsung 980 1TB M.2 SSD from my brother and wanted to insert this into the second M2 slot. But it is not recognized, I understand that this is because of the limitations in the lanes thus closing a SATA slot. But I installer the samsung in the 2nd M2 slot and it is not SATA. Can this setup work or ? Kr Boris |

The 980 is an NVMe drive, the second M.2 slot only supports SATA drives:
https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M%20Pro4/index.asp#Specification M2_2 is SATA only. The intel drive is also NVMe so your only option would be to either use a PCIe to NVMe adapter add in card or use a SATA drive in the second M.2 slot. |
