Dunno if this coincidence or not. Just had "Attempted_Write_to_ReadOnly_Memory" BSOD with the 4.70 BIOS for AB350 Pro4.
AMD Ryzen 7 1700 3.0Ghz | ASRock AB350 Pro4 BIOS 4.70 | Avexir Core Series
2x8GB 2400MHz DDR4 | ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB | WD
Blue 2TB | Seasonic S12II 520W | Win10x64

AGESA 1.0.0.6 is reported as the most stable from various forums for ASRock boards (BIOS 3.xx). Why are you updating to the 4.xx branch if you don't have a Gen 2  2xxx Ryzen processor?

Even ASRock advises against upgrading your BIOS if you don't have any issues. New processors = new bugs on older motherboards...

My system has been rock solid ever since I did the steps I mentioned above. Is it easy plug and play like an Intel based system - No! But IMHO, it's worth the effort to get raw workstation power at this price point for non-gaming tasks. If you check all the reviews on Newegg, you will see that the issues with Ryzen aren't isolated to ASRock boards.

Could you please try these steps:

1. Roll back to BIOS 3.40 (Bridge) and then BIOS 3.10 with AGESA 1.0.0.6b.

2. Reinstall Windows 10.

3. Do not install any ASRock drivers/programs (CD or downloaded) or anything else - only AMD chipset drivers from AMD and appropriate video card drivers from NVIDIA/AMD (the basic Realtek drivers should be included in Windows 10 for LAN and audio).

4. Lock your CPU with a mild overclock so it's always at the same clock speed.

5. Use 2400 for your memory at default timings (Auto) and make sure you installed your memory in the A2/B2 slots.

6. Use the AMD balanced power plan if not enabled (installed with the AMD drivers).

Report back... Smile
