I read somewhere that there was a 16GB limit in Win7 ...

Good Call. Looking around and it looks like that may be the case. Was my first build and it never occurred to me that an OS would have any such limit.

...for the record.. you really should use your valid Win7 key and install Windows 10 X64 v1903 (May update) to best utilize your Ryzen based setup.

Yeah, I would've done that but the primary reason i went ahead and built a windows7 machine is because my store bought windows 10 (or maybe it was 8.1) machine would not allow me to run some of my graphic design software on it... "for some reason".

I'm afraid of running into the same issue.

Back up your stuff .. install Windows 10 and then install whatever software that you think might not work and see if does .. or if you have a buddy you could try an install on ... or you could run Windows 7 in a VM

I never used Win7 Home, always Professional/Enterprise/Ultimate, so i also was not aware of the limits:
Windows 7 Home Basic 8GB
Windows 7 Home Premium 16 GB
