I recently installed a Corsair M510 M.2 NVME SSD in the M.2 2_2 slot on an X99 Gaming i7 motherboard.
After researching the motherboard manual I'm still a little sketchy on whether this is the best slot to have the M.2 in. There is only one GPU installed and no other drives besides the Corsair M.2. Is this a good slot or should it be moved to the 2_1 slot? I went from a standard SSD to the M.2 and speeds seem to be slower now. I have not done any benchmarks to test this yet. Is there anything special in the BIOS I need to adjust? |

Dear CCallahan,
Thank you for choosing ASRock. Regarding your question, the M2_1 slot and M2_2 slot have the same bandwidth, and support M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s). You can install the M.2 SSD in any slot you like. Thank you! Yours truly, ASRock TSD |
