There is at least a month more before you could score a Zen 2 CPU. I bet there will be at least 1 more BIOS version before that happens, and one more, shortly after.

Now is a good time to strat reading how to use all the tools required for a proper OC, and start practicing. You should be able to reach 3400-3600 even now, if all is done as it should.

Thanks all so I guess I will OC to 3600mhz or if the ram can go to 3733mhz it would be nice. :D I'll do this when I buy the 3900x. I also read the 3.43 BIOS has issues with Windows not booting and 3.40 is more stable , and both support the 3000 series.

I am not a fan of OC either, but it's practically a free upgrade with these kits, and they are rock-solid 24/7.

You can easily save a few hundred bucks by not buying new RAM.

As for OC being harmful to the chips, it's not. It's the voltage (and amps, respectively) that kills them. Keep the voltage in check and all should be fine.

More so, Flare X are backed by a lifetime warranty. You don't basically lose anything!

Yes I do have them: G.SKILL Flare X Series. I was never a fan of OC, doesn't OC always shorten the lifespan of a product no matter how cool it runs? Being it RAM, CPU, GPU.

If you have decent B-die chips you can even OC them to 3600 as I did with some of mine.

These Flare X are mofo beasts! I even tightened some of the sub-timings, thanks to the AMD mem calc by 1usmus.

The board itself should be able to handle mem speeds around 3700, even with 4 sticks.

One more thing, since 3rd gen Ryzen supports faster ram will this board support DDR4-3600 and DDR4-3733 with the new BIOS updates?
