I just got my Fatal1ty Killer board, and I see where it says to use this power connector if you run 2 or more cards, my question is, is there any benefit of using this connector if you only have 1 card, ie: xtra or more solid power?.

If You have a solid PSU, You should be good without it.

If You have a bad PSU - just change it, for a better future.

So, for one PCI-e GPU, You are fine with the PCI-e power provided by the MBO via 24+8pin.

There is no benefit from using it with a single card as far as I have seen in testing on my own systems.
