The general consensus, based on pre-release pictures from around June is that the Taichi connects the DIMM slots in parallel. See Buildzoid's analysis:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUtvsAmD3Ws#t=21m13s I'm looking at the high quality pic from overclock.net: https://www.overclock.net/forum/11-amd-motherboards/1730162-official-asrock-x570-overclocking-support-thread.html and it's really unclear to me at this point whether we're dealing with a serial or parallel configuration. Furthermore, the manual recommending pairs A2, B2 for 2 DIMMs (like most other motherboards out there) makes me think this is a daisy chain configuration (series). Any info on this? |

The Asrock X570 Taichi is known as one of the very few boards with T topology, like the X370 and X470 Taichi. The pictures doesn't show all.
And the QVL shows some 3600MHz RAM DS modules for 4 DIMM configurations. I think, the "manual recommending pairs A2, B2 for 2 DIMMs" is the standard print in all manuals. I'm using 4 sticks successfully (at 3600 MHz) with X570 Taichi. Specifically this set:

That Google spreadsheet is based on Buildzoid's analysis I linked before. Still not really convinced, but quad ranked @ 3600 MHz seems a more reasonable argument.

Thanks. Still doesn't mean much. Buildzoid successfully overclocked different 4x8 or 2x8+2x16 configurations on various "known" daisy chain motherboards from MSI or Gigabyte.

So just the ES board he used in his first review had T-Top.
Could be seen as an indicator, that the topology is not so important for Zen2. Regarding the PCB layout, a better placement for the chipset and the USB 3.2 Gen1 Header would give a higher benefit as T-Top anyway... |
