I have an X399 Taichi with the following specs:

Threadripper 1950x
GSkill TridentZ RGB - 32GB (8GB x 4)
1080 Ti
1TB NVME SSD
Windows 10 1903

When trying to install AsrRgbLedSetup(v1.0.41).exe the software freezes the computer. I tried to run "wICPFLASH.exe /File=nu51_1.10" as admin but it freezes after showing "Enter ICP mode." I tried a clean install of the OS (base install, no extra drivers installed) with the same issue.

I am at a loss. I can only control the RGB using the BIOS.

I appreciate any help offered.

For anyone else with this issue, I got it working by:

  • Save your UEFI settings and then set the UEFI to defaults. No CPU overclock, no RAM overclock including XMP, all set to auto/defaults.

  • Run the wICPFLASH command to upgrade firmware, otherwise ASRRGBLED will not start.

  • Restore you UEFI settings and any overclocks for CPU/RAM.

To run wICPFLASH:

  1. Click Start button

  2. Type cmd

  3. Select "Run as administrator"

  4. Type cd "\Program Files (x86)\ASRock Utility\ASRRGBLED\Bin"

  5. Type wICPFLASH /File=nu51_1.10

  6. Wait for the flash to finish
