There always is a lack of documentation, my MSI board manual has a comment for two beep codes, my Asrock manual nothing.
Ok, forgot the DXE beep codes (and i do not use a speaker on a mainboard since over 20 years...) DXE - Driver Execution Environment For a bios with a hex LED display there are codes defined for the DXE Phase. So the DXE beep codes seemed to be appropriate for me, at least because in another forum there was a discussion about that. AMI beep codes would be more convenient, even in the FAQ from Asrock: https://www.asrock.com/support/faq.asp?k=beep+codes or http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/amibeep.htm 5 short beeps: Processor failure That matches with your first attempt to ravish your CPU and possibly the board too... Your CPU and board should be inspected professionally... |

Thanks for the response. How do you know it's DXE beep codes? I'm just really surprised there isn't somewhere online that can confirm beep codes. I thought there were speaker header beep codes hooked to the motherboard that confirm what is wrong but your list sounds like it doesn't relate to the motherboard? Confirming that the VGA power cable goes straight from the PSU to the video card, confirming video card is in PCIE1 slot. I guess I'll attempt to disconnect both hard drives? I've toyed around with the RAM slots little already but I can try again too now that it actually powers up. |

DXE Beep Codes: # of Beeps / Description 1 Invalid password 4 Some of the Architectural Protocols are not available 5 No Console Input/Output Devices are found 6 Flash update is failed 7 Reset protocol is not available 8 Platform PCI resource requirements cannot be met
- Just to be sure: Connect the video cable to the GPU, not to the port of the mainboard. - Make sure that the GPU is installed on PCIE1 (PCIe 4.0 x16 slot) - Disconnect all drives - Install ONE ram stick in A2 When the display is working and you can enter the bios, load defaults, save and exit, power off. Continue with two RAM sticks in A2/B2 And maybe consult the friend who does cryptocurrency mining for build the first PC. |

Hello,
Tried to build my first gaming PC but to no avail. Everything powers up at this point (it didn't power up at all first time) but it doesn't communicate with my monitor. The scary part is I think I had the CPU rotated wrong and I'm afraid the pins could be bent and ruined. The second time I removed the heatsink I couldn't even remove the CPU (felt stuck). Anyway my speaker header has five beeps and this is for X570M. I can't find anywhere online what five beeps mean. Anybody have any idea? CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard: (in title) Memory: GeIL EVO Spear 16 GB (2x8) DDR4-3200 Storage: Hitachi Ultrastar 7K3000 2 TB 3.5" Storage: Team GX2 512 GB 2.5" Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon RX580 8 GB Aorus XTR 8G (this is my only used part, gifted from a friend who does cryptocurrency mining Case: Thermaltake Versa H18 MicroATX Mini Tower Case PSU: EVGA SuperNova G3 550 W Monitor: Dell S2419HGF 24" 1920x1080 144 Hz On top of that I can't switch my monitor to English (accidentally tapped Spanish for first time turning on) but I think it roughly translates to no HDMI signal, move your mouse or keyboard, etc. Thank you |
