In another post I read "Regarding your question, only
the SATA type M.2 connects to M2_1 will disable the SATA3_1 port.

If you are using the PCIe NVMe type M.2 at M2_1, all 4 SATA ports can be used."
====================

Hi, I have a Z390 Extreme 4
I tried to install a 970 EVI NVMe M.2 at M 2_1 and M 2_2

Both times other Sata drives were disabled.

I thought if it was an NVMe it would not disable.

Any thoughts, any way to get all the drives to work?
Thanks

Dear Renew,

Thank you for posting your query to ASRock forum.
This is technical support from ASRock.

Regarding your question, Z390 Extreme4 motherboard has the specification of:
-M2_1, SATA3_0, and SATA3_1 share lanes.
-M2_2, SATA3_4, and SATA3_5 share lanes.

Thus, if M.2_1 slot is used SATA3_0/SATA3_1 will be disabled.
And if M.2_2 slot is used SATA3_4/SATA3_5 will be disabled.

With thanks,
ASRock TSD

Are both port capable of the same speed ? (i.e. PCIe Gen3 x4) or is it one with this speed and the other one with SATA3 only ?

I'm trying to see if it's interesting to make a raid 0 with these 2 ports.

Thanks !

Dear Renew,

Thanks for posting again.

The speed of both M.2 will be the same when using PCIe M.2.

With thanks,
