I can only connect my keyboard and mouse to certain ports on the back of the motherboard. The ports all show 5V output on a tester but keyboard and mouse are not recognized. The ports under the PS2 connector won't recognize anything. Two ports support keyboard and mouse, as do the headers. I cannot explain this and would appreciate anyone's thoughts on this.

check device manager if any usb related things shows something wrong

Yes, first place I looked. No warnings, nothing in event log either.

then i would try to uninstall each of the usb related hubs and controllers
i had problems with one of my usb device crashing the whole system few months back it was a pain looking for the problem with all ports connected in the end it was the xbox wireless dongle lol goodluck |
