Try re-seating your CPU.

How are the CPU temps leading up to it throwing this error?

Check the contact pads on the original CPU, there may be some dirt stuck to one or more of the pins that is preventing proper contact. I usually use Isopropyl Alcohol and a clean cotton cloth to wipe down the underside of my intel CPUs before installing them, just be sure all the alcohol is evaporated before seating the CPU.
