I own a DeskMini A300 since 6 months and I have two severe problems:

1)
8 out of 10 boot procedures (after pressing the power button) the PC won't start up properly. The power button is enabled, the cooling fan is running but than nothing happens, the video output is also off. I have then to press the power button to force shutdown and restart again. Very nasty.
I already opened a ticket at customer support some time ago. They proposed me to clear CMOS, reflash BIOS and so on. Nothing changed.

2) I have a second partition with Linux Mint Cinnamon Desktop 19.3.
Since the latest update of Linux Kernel (5.7) Mint won't shutdown. Same situation like when the PC is not starting properly: video output is off, power button is still on and cooling fan is running. But nothing happens. This will go on forever. This happens EVERY time I shutdown Linux.

My configuration:

DeskMini A300
Bios 3.6
No SATA SSD (Disabled in Bios)
Intel NVMe M2.SSD 1000 GB
2 x 8 GB DDR4 3200 RAM
Windows 10 partition
Linux Minut Partition with Grub Boot Manager

I am really disappointed about this buggy hardware!

Seen here and other places, nothing we can do until ASRock updates the AGESA and modules for this system.

For a test, I flashed my ASRock b350m pro4 back to a 1.0.0.1 BIOS, and near same issues.

ASRock does a BIOS update or we will all have to go with 2400G since 1.0.0.1 AGESA is sh*t with Zen+ 3200/3400G

Well, I contacted the support again under the same ticket number. Telling them that their suggestions did not work at all and a lot of people in the ASRock Support forum do have the same problem. I also posted a link to the relevant posts here.
They did not even take a comment on this. Their suggestion was that I should send the COMPLETE PC to the ASRock customer center to "repair" it. If I would deliver a good trouble description they would "definitely fix it".
I cannot do without my PC for several weeks. Also I have doubts that they will fix the problem after all I read here in the last weeks.
Today, I ordered a used Ryzen 5 2400G processor at eBay. My expectation is that the problems will be gone with it. I will post my observations here, soon!

no problem, it work very good.

Deskmini nr.3
3400G
G.Skill RipJaws SO-DIMM 8GB, DDR4-3200, CL18-18-18-43 (F4-3200C18S-8GRS)

already bought a fourth deskmini because I need the pc permanently, no time for repairs. did not fix the error. either ram not compatible or cpu has an error. ram is not in compatible list but with 2400G no problem.

Dear m4758406,

Thank you for choosing ASRock.

Regarding your case, please help to verify the HX429S17IB2K2/16 with your DeskMini number3.
If possible, please also help to exchange the CPU to verify.

Thank you!
Yours truly,
ASRock TSD

Today I updated to the new BETA firmaware 3.60H and it looks like all the problems are gone! I booted nearly a dozen time without any hanging during boot process.
Additionally I noticed that the boot process is MUCH faster than with the old bios.
Let's keep fingers crossed that this firmware update was the solution.

YEP, I kept saying AGESA/modules had fix's for PCIe issues as well (as does 1.0.0.5 and 1.0.0.6 but unaware if directly impacting A300), this is just confirmation.

Also, boot speed, yep, I kept saying that and Support is like "no it doesnt" (to boot speed increase/other fix's and that they dont apply to Zen/Zen+ which as myself, others and now you have experienced, it does)... YES.... IT..... DOES....

I have boot problems *with* the beta BIOS, if a SSD is connected to a USB port. If I disconnect the SSD drive the DeskMini boots without problems.
So I think there is still a bug in BIOS 3.60H.
