Z170 Extreme4+ loses settings after each UEFI update

I've updated the UEFI firmware of my Z170 Extreme4+ three times so far.

Every time all the settings were reset to defaults. Configuring everything to my liking
can take up to 20 minutes.

Is there any way around it, so the settings stay after the firmware update?

This is my first Asrock mainboard. In the past I has mainboards from
MSI, Intel, Gigabyte and Asus. Not once did the other mainboards
reset the settings after a BIOS/UEFI update.

Seriously, none of the other boards you've used reset the options after a firmware update?

It's been a while since I've used a board besides an ASRock, but setting options back to their default settings when new firmware is applied is not unusual.

If you've ever saved a profile (User Default) in the UEFI, you know that they are also removed after a firmware update.

At the bottom of your board's OC Tweaker screen are two options:

Save User UEFI Setup Profile to Disk

Load User UEFI Setup Profile from Disk

These are the options you are looking for. If new options are added by a firmware update, these profiles will not work with them.

Your board's A-Tuning software also has an option to save settings in its OC Tweaker screen, but that is only a subset of the UEFI options.

Or removed from the previous.
