Hello,
I recently bought a h170 pro4 and I was quite surprised about its dimensions: I thought all the atx were 305 x 244 mm, but this mb has a shorter side about 22,5 cm. For this I could screw only two thirds of the motherboard to the case, leaving the last third without screws a little bit flexible. I think this is a minor issue, but was there any specific reason to shorten a side? or may be there are more standards for atx? Thank you! |

The reason is pretty simple, production cost. In all the time I have used ASRock products I have always found that they offer maximum quality and features at a very competitive price point. One of the ways they do this is to cut costs in areas that do not effect performance, like shortening the PCB, not including a lot of unnecessary accessories and keeping the packaging simple.
If you are concerned about the flex on your board you can pick up plastic standoffs to attach to the remaining mounting holes. So long as the board is securely mounted however there shouldn't be an issue. The most critical area to be rigid is the PCIe slots and CPU socket which will have to support the weight of a GPU and CPU cooler respectively.

It was more a curiosity than a real concern
