    Posted: 29 Dec 2022 at 12:17am
I use an ASRock X370 Fatal1ty professional gaming MB too.
The RAM I use is Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 4 x 8Gb (32Gb) 3200MHz.
I can only seem to run it at 2132MHz.

Every time I pick an XMP profile 2.0 and set the speed to 3200Mhz, the system doesn't go in after I save and exit.

It resets and the speed drops to 2132Mhz again.

Also, Does anyone know if i can upgrade my CPU from Ryzen 7 1700x to a Ryzen 9 5950x or Ryzen 7 5800X3D or 5000x?

Much appreciate the help. Thanks!

ok after some more changes latest zen timing -

however i do not see VDDP loaded - i changed that in the bios to 1.1 volt.

it seems stable but mouse shows some lag issues sometimes.

what is the discord web address that you plan to use? and what time and time zone?

Let's see if our time matches.

Please tell me if you've read this or not ??? please confirm back.

so your solution is in this = https://www.overclock.net/threads/asrock-x370-taichi-overclocking-thread.1627407/post-29010423

I hope you've read it and understand them, it is of PARAMOUNT importance.

But I'll make an effort to try to simplify (but no easy way to be honest): -
1) boot into UEFI
2) load XMP
3) do NOT reboot
4) immediately check parameters
F12 function key screen capture UEFI into USB thumbdrive if you want to shows us.
4-1) NOT check hardware monitor readings in realtime.
4-2) check the settings for which you'll save setup and reboot and take effect for next reboot.
4-3) CHECK vddr_SOC voltage setting for next reboot must be 1.1v for XMP, versus existing 2133mhz VSOC(SVI2) default only 0.825v hence failed to let XMP boot - do you understand this point now? please confirm back.
5) check below all these same as point 4-3)
>vddr_SOC = 1.1v
>cldo_VDDP = 1v
>vddg_IOD = 1.1v
>vddg_CCD = 1.1v
>procODT = 48 ohms for my ram
>>> they are not all in one page, you have to go to as many pages as you need to find them and verify them.
>>>>>>if any of those voltages are NOT then your XMP will not boot.

your zentiming 2133mhz shows CLDO_VDDP 0.95v, do you see this on your zentiming? Please confirm back. 0.95v is just about enough to boot XMP, change to 1v to be sure.

Change GDM to enable next time. GDM = Gear Down Mode. Must for you.

and yes I know you are on Zen1+ 12nm 2600x, may be without vddg_IOD and CCD, I'm not sure, but if there's none then ignore, if there's option to set vddg voltages then make sure they're both 1.1v else XMP cannot boot.

your procODT is 60ohms, is OK for now.

Above was all voltages.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Below is all timing (the hard part)
1) You need to show us your ram's XMP original timing,
2) It can be found in your UEFI bios screen
2-1) see my example https://www.overclock.net/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,onerror=redirect,width=1920,height=1920,fit=scale-down/https://www.overclock.net/attachments/whatsapp-image-2022-08-10-at-8-54-51-pm-jpeg.2569122/
2-2) F12 function key will screen capture UEFI into USB thumb drive - else use a cellphone camera.

>>>>>>Again you must read this Posted: 15 Aug 2022 at 2:24pm
so your solution is in this = https://www.overclock.net/threads/asrock-x370-taichi-overclocking-thread.1627407/post-29010423

3) LAST/Else you can try to boot and hope you are lucky that your timing might be compatible where with the above corrected voltages will be successful to boot.

If you managed to boot XMP succesfully, please show us your XMP zentiming, because XMP boot windows idle ok, but sometimes crash in games or heavy CPU workload, due to some timing mismatch due to XMP load half not load other half. Need to make sure by using zentiming to capture what's the actual full or not full XMP being loaded.

I am going to go off this one.

I have updated the XMP profile 2.0
I changed the SOC voltage to 1.0
I changed the Freq to 3200 mhz.
Attached are screenshots of the bios that i used F12 to take.

please let me know next step. can we do a discord chat instead to do a one on one chat?

becausesss
1) your bios version does not contain your ram spec
2) your ram timing CL not EVEN numbers, Ryzen don't like 15, 17, 19

so your solution is in this = https://www.overclock.net/threads/asrock-x370-taichi-overclocking-thread.1627407/post-29010423

I mean it seriously.

a quick and dirty summary repeating a part of the link I gave, make sure.
1) vddr_SOC = 1.1v
2) cldo_VDDP = 1v
3) vddg_IOD = 1.1v
4) vddg_CCD = 1.1v
5) procODT = 48 ohms

old bios or bios without sufficient library will sometimes stupid be
1) vddr_SOC = 0.9v
2) cldo_VDDP = 0.7v old Zen1 days
3) vddg_IOD = 0.9v
4) vddg_CCD = 0.9v
5) procODT = 36 ohms
hence can't boot.

layman's explanation, not technically correct, but easy to understand, even if it's written wrong: -

WTF ?
