x570 SL ax running BIOS P3.60
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
Windows 11 Pro

I am trying to update BIOS to at least 3.90 to prepare for a CPU upgrade (5800x3D, 3.90 BIOS minimum) but when trying to instant flash BIOS via root, I get an invalid file error.

The files are recognized in the UEFI and able to be selected but when trying to install them they produce the invalid file error.

I have tried 3.7,3.8,3.9,4.1, and L5.01 but all produce the same invalid file error.

I have confirmed that I downloaded the correct BIOS for my board. I have tried renaming the files also but still receive the same error.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi

Surely other users here will offer you good advice about troubleshooting X570, while I offer you a link to this Community that was useful for me and where Moderation advises the steps to follow to eliminate possible "gremlins" in BIOS

Also, I would recommend you to open an ASRock support request as soon as possible

Good luck

Resolved by using a USB rather than root.
