As stated having these issues on the Taichi z690 (basically z690 Taichi Carrera)
F5-6400J3239G32GX2-TZ5RK is the RAM kit I have. G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6400 (PC5 51200) Desktop Memory Model F5-6400J3239G32GX2-TZ5R It only trains and works in slots 1&3. In 2&4 it will boot but will not train and instantly crashes anything that tries to use the RAM. I verified this all with MEMTEST as well, it only passes with this kit in slots 1&3, not 2&4. This is confusing because the manual states that slots 2&4 are preferred for dual-channel configurations. Any one have any idea why? |

Could be a faulty memory channel on the CPU. If you have any other RAM to verify
with (in slots 2 and 4) it would help rule out a compatibility issue. I don't see how it could be incompatible RAM though if it's working as it should in slots 1 and 3. It may be worth trying a BIOS update if one is available that is newer than your current version. Failing that, I would RMA that CPU just to be on the safe side and rule out a marginal/bad IMC on the CPU. |

It turns out the ram for some reason isn't fully compatible. I tried this kit since microcenter nearby had it and corsair listed it as compatible for the Taichi z690 even though ASROCK doesn't.
https://www.microcenter.com/product/647391/corsair-dominator-platinum-rgb-64gb-(2-x-32gb)-ddr5-5200-pc5-41600-cl40-dual-channel-desktop-memory-kit-cmt64gx5m2b5200-black And it worked in slots 2&4, passed memtest and no crashes in games or apps. My only guess is the ram was running in some weird single channel mode in 1&3? It's really weird that it passed test in only those slots. Would be nice to get some feedback from ASROCK about this. |

I'd also add now that I think about it, it kept retraining every time I booted up.
