Thanks for that. I was tearing my hair out trying to get my WD_Black SN850X working and almost gave up when I saw it explicitly "not supported due to pin changes" but it works great in the M2_2 slot on 10.08!

For those stopping in here for a solution.
Bios version 10.08 for the ASRock B450 Pro4 (full atx) worked. for me. I was on version 4.20 with no luck moving my m.2 nvme pci 3x4 drive from M2_1 to M2_2. I wanted to free up m2_1 so I can try to use PCIE4. After updating the bios I enabled the "Force m2_2" feature under storage options and all is well. There is a warning not to use this bios with Summit Ridge (Ryzen 1800x for me) but it was worth a shot because otherwise I was going to go buy a new mobo and it worked fine so far. Now I just need to figure out why PCIE4 is still not detecting https://forum.asrock.com/smileys/smiley11.gif |

Hello,
I have this same issue with B550M Pro4! When I attach a Kingston NV2 2TB NVME drive to M2_2 the board does not POST and boot just hangs. I have no SATA etc. devices attached, only another NVME on M2_1. The board boots just fine if I remove the secondary NVME from M2_2. Could you please provide me a link for a beta BIOS for B550M Pro4 with Force M2_2? |

I just stumbled on this thread since I'm having the same issue with the B650M-HDV/M.2 board, the second "Hyper" M2_2 slot isn't working on my gen4 Lexar NM790 drive, it's just not recognized ever in BIOS or Windows.
It does work on my older SN550 drive but it is dropping out on every sleep or cold boot, only restarting the PC makes it reappear. Are there any beta BIOS versions for this board that may resolve this? |

https://www.asrock.com/mb/amd/b450m%20steel%20legend/#Specification - 1 x M.2 Socket (M2_2), supports M Key type 2230/2242/2260/2280 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module as you can see, m2_2 supports just SATA drive, m2_1 supports both nvme and sata if you plan to use multiple nvme drives, you would need to use pci-e to m2 adapter |

Hello
Can you confirm that I can use this BIOS with my B450 Pro4 (not B450M) I'm having the same issue, board does not POST after installing m.2 nvme om m2_2, and there are no storage devices connecteD to SATA 3_3 and 3_4 Post stays on error A0 which indicates a SATA issue NVME is Crucial MP600 Core XT PCIe 4.0 2TB of you can check compatibility I found it weird that mobo did not post even with that installed on M2_1 alone with no other storage devices Thanks in advance |

Dear Customer,
Thank you for the posting. For this case, we are sorry to inform you that M2_2 slot only supports SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module. Please kindly refer to the specification of Storage. https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B450M%20Pro4%20R2.0/index.asp#Specification Thank you Yours truly, ASRock TSD |
