CPU or MB socket

I have a Fatal1ty Z170 K6+ with an i7 6700K. About 3 weeks ago it would not start, absolutely dead. The MB was giving a 00 code so blindly following the MB I returned my CPU. I dont know if the company I sourced it from did a very good set of tests but anyway they sent me a brand new CPU so I had presumed they found fault with it. 

Anyway I fractionally bent one of the 1151 socket pins when removing the first CPU so I got out the old magnifying glasses and some pins and have the pin as far as I can tell in exactly the place it was give or take a few nm. In went the new CPU and exactly the same result. 

I started researching fearing I had fried the new CPU but found that it could be the BIOS so swung the jumper to use the B BIOS and the computer stared hanging with a 55 error code. A bit more reading and researching and I can get the PC to start with either of my memory modules in either Channel A slot but if any memory is in a B channel slot I get the 55 error message. 

My question is. Is Channel B not working likely to be MB related (other than the possibly damaged M2 pin) or if the bent pin (M2) is causing the channel to not work.

A bent pin or pins could easily be responsible for the channel not functioning yes. It isn't only a question of if the pin is aligned but also it's height, if it has been forced down below the level the CPU is able to make contact with it is just as useless as if it is not aligned. 

I accidentally bent some pins on my E3V5 Performance/OC and had the same issue, dead memory channel, it took me hours to straiten the pins and get the levels correct but ultimately I was able to restore functionality to the dead channel. If the board is new however it may be worth trying to RMA it.

Very rare for a CPU to be dead, but who knows? Did the box seemed to be sealed, it should have clear tape over one end, a large white information label over the other end.

Depending upon the memory you have, the A2 and B2 slots are usually the best to use. Two double sided DIMMs (8GB+) belong in the A1 and B1 slots.

Your memory problem could be related to the bent pins, but checking memory compatibility is first.

Full name and model number of your memory, please.

The memory worked fine for about 8 months before my first CPU died so I doubt that is the problem. 

I've ordered some Jewelers magnifying glasses so I can see exactly where the pin is in relation to where it should be. 

Memory is 2 x 8G G.SKILL Trident Z 

F4-3000C15D

I did suffer from a memory leak with the system that I couldn't pin down beforehand. Been told that could have been the CPU cache and that's why the first CPU died.
