Hello, I connected HDD Toshiba DT01ACA050 into the mainboard G41C-GS, but sometimes HDD humming strange and continious motor restarted and Windows 7 don't charge or blocked and sometimes don't find OS. Now it's work propely, but 2 times it's damages and I don't know when he is damaged again. Maybe this HDD is not compatible with this motherboard, because she is Sata 2 interface, but HDD is Sata 3, but on this HDD there is no jumper to set to Sata 2, for example Western Digital with jumper set from Sata 2 to Sata 1. The old HDD which is Sata 2, works well.

Toshiba consumer HDDs don't req jumpers.
Noting it's an older board and has probably been upgraded some over time I would suggest you try another power rail from the PSU to power it. I don't see that this particular Toshiba has a 4-pin molex power, only "sata' type power. Some early Toshibas had both and many users mistakenly applied power to both. Bad, real Bad. But I would from here anyways take a close look at any adapter you may be using to power it. Things wear out over many connects and disconnects and that's what I suspect is your issue. If you have a different and unused sata power leading from the PSU I'd suggest trying it. |
