I don't know why the Xeon E5-1620 v4 is not included in the X99 Taichi or other ASRock X99 boards, but their is no reason why it should not be compatible. All of the other Xeon E5-1600 v4 series processors are compatible with the X99 Taichi, and all the other ASRock X99 boards, with the appropriate UEFI/BIOS version. These Xeon's are all Broadwell architecture processors, and all released at the same time: http://ark.intel.com/products/series/91318/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E5-1600-v4-Product-Family#@Server All that is needed for compatibility for any of these processors is the Broadwell-EP CPU microcode, which is part of the UEFI/BIOS, which the X99 Taichi has out of the box. The E5-1630 v4 is a four core eight thread processor, just like the E5-1620 v4, and the only difference between the two is the base and Turbo clock speeds, and a feature that is basically worthless except for processors that can be over clocked, and is just a band aid feature for those processors. |
