System: Z170M Extreme4, i5-6600k CPU, EVGA 650 G1 PSU, 16GB Kinston HyperX @ 2400GHz, Windows 10 64bit, Gigabyte GTX 1060, Corsair H60 CPU cooler, 2 x Thermaltake Riing chassis fans.
Problem: Upon power up, fan connected to the connector CHA_FAN1 is not recognized as present by the BIOS. The fan runs at 100% regardless of the fan profile set in BIOS. The FanTastic app has no effect on the fan either. If I shut down the system and reboot immediately, the fan is recognized and will obey the fan profile. I've tried so far: Removed all peripherals including the GPU, tried with two different fans (BitFenix Spectre and Thermaltake Riing), disabled Windows "quick start", set the system to go to deep sleep. No effect. Asrock support wants me to RMA the mobo, but since it works after a shutdown and restart, I think it's a software problem... any ideas? |
