Hi guys, good to be here, first time post, so quick rundown so I don't bore you to death.

I have (brand new),
AsRock Z170  PRO4 Board
2x GTX 670
850w PSU
16gb Kingston Hyper X 2600 DDR4
Kaby Lake 7700K

I'm stuck in an Infinite boot loop (No post, continuous reset after about 10 seconds), and I suspect its because the bios needs updating for the Kaby lake.
However, the local PC guys back in Australia (im in NZ now), didn't let me know that it 'possibly' has to be done using a Skylake CPU, then install the Kaby. (Is this correct)

Have done all the usual things Reset CMOS, Remove refit RAM, Video cards, Checked all cables and for shorts to ground etc.

My last build using an Asrock board did this as well, but the clear CMOS button fixed this (RAM Issue).

Anyway,
Is there any way to force update the bios from USB stick?

Cheers,
Matt.

Unfortunately yes, you will need to either update the BIOS with a Skylake CPU or purchase a new BIOS chip preflashed with the necessary BIOS version.

Use the above link to contact ASRock Tech Support directly and they should be able to help you with your issue.

I usually keep a cheap CPU on hand for this kind of issue. The Skylake Celerons are cheap but a new BIOS chip may be cheaper for you.

Thanks for the reply Xaltar, I thought this was the case. I can get a Skylake G4400 for about 90NZD, might just be easier to do this then use it for a media center build haha!

Thanks again mate!

I think this is my problem .brand new computer set up, just tried booting it up. the computer screen shows nothing. it reboots ONCE, and then stays on. was yours like this? I'm getting a sky lake now to see if that will fix it!
