Is there anyone here that can do UHD 60Hz 4:4:4 using an ASRock mainboard? If you're using DisplayPort only you should be fine, but everyone with HDMI out (with LSPCON) will probably have issues.

To verify you can use these test patterns: http://cellarcinema.info/temp/uhdtest.zip
It's very important that you view these images WITHOUT scaling. On Windows 10 it's 'right mouse button' + edit.

My setup is: J3455-ITX FW 1.2, LSPCON FW 1.61, Club3D 3m 4K HDMI cable, Philips 43PUS6101/12 (HDMI 3 4:2:2/4:4:4 enabled)

I get the following results:
ChromaRes.png... shows 4:2:2
TextTest_1920x1080.png... red/yellow text is not vibrant, red-on-blue text font not pixel perfect
TintBlueRGB.PNG... the word red/magenta looks like 3D

Reducing to 30Hz doesn't help im my case.
A FullHD Monitor connected to the DVI port works fine (4:4:4 mode).

I'm trying to get Intel to expand the features of the HD graphics control panel (force YCbCr 4:4:4 or RGB). https://communities.intel.com/thread/111279

- Philips 43PUS6101/12, 4:4:4 fail
- Samsung UE43KU6070, no picture at all
- Samsung UE48JU7580, enable 'HDMI UHD Color', HDMI input type to 'PC' = perfect 4:4:4

I believe LSPCON was capable of doing 4:4:4, until I flashed the 1.61 firmware Dead
Prior to flashing it was on 1.4x but I can't remember the exact version, or find that version to reflash and test

4K monitor used: Philips 49PUS6401
When set to 4:2:2/4:4:4 mode, no picture
When set to 4:2:0 display works but only at 4:2:0 :(

You might want to be more specific about the system than just an "ASRock mainboard".

Specifically, a system using the Intel J3455 processor, since that is the source of the video output.

Or better, the IntelĀ® HD Graphics 500, which is what you are using, and the Intel graphics driver for HD 500 graphics. The OS type and version are also important, since the Intel graphics driver can/will be different for each type and version.

Otherwise, my "ASRock mainboard" can display those files over HDMI fine. But that PC has zero in common with yours.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I always use the UHD 4:2:2/4:4:4 mode and HDMI3 on my 43PUS6101/12. Sometime I have no picture between the BIOS and the Windows login screen, but otherwise it's rock solid, UHD 60Hz.
Did you change to computer mode (picture, advanced)?
Is your cable 4K/18Gbit capable?

I've done a lot of testing and can confidently say that either my 43PUS6101/12 can't do 4:4:4 or I really don't know what else I should try in the TV settings. I can rule out all other components because everything worked fine with a Samsung TV.

I've tried everything I possibly can, I am currently hunting for firmware 1.36, I believe that is the original firmware that was shipped with the board and worked fine.

I have tested the following firmware so far:

v1.24: capable of 4:4:4, but intermittent black screen makes it unusable.
v1.36: still looking, please let me know if anyone has it
v1.48: black screen when attempting 4:4:4, best is 4:2:0, 4K@60Hz
v1.65 (from intel): same as 1.48, best is 4:2:0, 4K@60Hz

Do you still have the 1.24 files?
I'd like to try them.

Here's 1.42 http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/Utility/mb_utility_megachips.zip

I don't know if ASRock ever released the 1.24 firmware on their website, as that is what came shipped with my motherboard (ASRock Z170 Fatal1ty Gaming ITX/ac), and 1.36 was available for download when I got my board.

The other versions released on the ASRock website for my board:
1.36 - I had audio dropping issues (HDMI audio output would disappear) and wake from sleep problems with this version.
1.48+ - I had wake from sleep issues here, needing a computer shut down and turn on again.
1.61 - This is what I am currently using and it is definitely the most stable. The only thing I do notice is sometimes after waking the monitor, my app windows are re-sized smaller into the top left corner. Not a huge deal, and I can live with this.

Intel has published:
1.65 - I have not tried this one. The package from Intel contains both the 1.61 and 1.65 versions and seems to be labelled for different boards. I am hesitant to move to this one.
Similarly, Gigabyte appeared to release 1.42 around the same time ASRock released 1.48+, so I am not sure if there are minor variations between vendors with the versions.

I am using a Samsung UA55KS8000WXXY. As suggested the other day, setting it to 4K@60Hz and "PC" picture mode I can get 4:4:4 chroma using the sample images above.

I have PM'ed you about the 1.36 firmware.

For the other Samsung TV, have you also enabled HDMI UHD Color and set the input type to PC?
Do you need to plug it into a particular HDMI input (maybe labelled DVI or PC)?

For the Philips TV, have you plugged into HDMI 3 or 4 and set UHD 4:4:4?

To set the signal quality?? 1 - Press ?? select General settings and press ??(right) to enter the menu. 2 - Select HDMI Ultra HD > HDMI 3 & 4 and press OK. 3 - Select UHD 4:4:4/4:2:2, UHD 4:2:0 or UHD Off and press OK. 4 - Press ??(left) repeatedly if necessary, to close the menu.

If it works for one TV, then I'd start with the settings in the other TV's that could be modified (not necessarily the PC settings).
