I have ASROCK mobo  X99 EXTREME - working with my MIS GPX 960 4Gb card for about 5-7 months. aLL WORKED FINE. 3 days ago I decided to add new SSD and more RAM. Simple job. Shut everything down and after I tried to power up no more video.
I tried several things and so far eliminated some causes, but still no video. This card has 2 x HDMI and 2x DP + 1x HDMI
- tested all ports none of them has video
- the card is powered and all fans are spinning OK
- checked PS cable, I have 12v+ on all positive pins
- I ordered new (same) card and today I tried it with the same result
- unplugged all power cables except CPU can and GPU fan,  no success

I will go and buy another PS to see if this could be a case but if this will not help I'm clueless. The last thing is the mobo but I really have no way or testing another one. I checked on-line many other people having similar problems with those video cards or similar cards on different mother boards, but I haven't found any solution. It is very unlikely that 2 video cards are bad (but I will go some place and test them to make sure). As I stated the video was working fine till the last moment I shut down PC, so it has nothing to do with the drivers, software etc. I will also try to reset the BIOS today to see if it helps.

By saying no video I mean NO POST, nothing.

Any ideas ?

Welcome to the forums.

Silly question, did you try clearing CMOS?

Did you try pulling the new hardware and testing without it?

Please give us a list of your hardware specs, including PSU.

cleared CMOS, no video
tried another 750W PS, no video
tried MSI GPU in another mobo (works fine)
tried another GPU with my MOBO, no video
CPU fan works, all case fans work
disconnected everything from mobo but the 2 main cables + the power to the GPU, no video
Disconnected mobo cables for few hours, no video

any other ideas before I contact ASROCK for replacement ?

On this MB, when you add another nVME SSD( not sure what you added) doesn't it displace PCIe lanes?

Yes it does, that is true of any X99 board that has an Ultra M.2 slot.

But we don't know what mother board is being used, all we know is X99 Extreme... there are eight X99 Extreme models.

Also, no idea what CPU is being used, HEDT processors have different PCIe lane counts.

We don't know what SSD was added, could be SATA for all we know.

One more variable from the first post, "aLL WORKED FINE. 3 days ago I decided to add new SSD and more RAM."

More (new) RAM, and no video signal. Do we know that POST completed successfully? MSI video card works fine in another PC, right?

Did you remove the new RAM yet as a test? If it is not mixed up with the existing RAM.

Added memory ! Not good.

parsec asks "Did you remove the new RAM yet as a test?"

Do this as it most likely the issue. Mixing old and new memory is not good.

OK, I decided to test another mother board. Installed ASUS X99, everythingworks fine video as expected. So definitely it is ASROCK MOBO issue. Now the question howq can  Iget this fixed ?

If not, use the RMA Form linked below. But don't bet that after waiting for the MB to return that when it finally does you don't find you have the same issues. Just a friendly FYI, so don't be surprised.

Good luck.

Thank you all for your suggestions but I need to emphasize that I'm very specific to the issues. I'Another words this configuration worked for5 months OK. the problem started when I tried to add standard SATA SSD (in the hard drive bay) and add extra RAM. The questions of: did you connect your HDs etc have not much meaning because the problem started without touching any cables. Once again here is what I did:
- shut down PC
- added RAM
- connected SSD to available SATA port + the PWR
- powered up

this should be no brainer and I have build more than 100 PC in my life so I'm not a novice, but since I work in different IT area I'm not 100% familiar with all the new technology (it's just hard to keep up).

I tested the card with another MOBO and there is no problem with the video. I also tried another PS - no change, so obviously it is a problem related to the MOBO.

One other thing that I suspect is that when I cleared the CMOS possibly (by default) the MOBO goes into the VGA state with the card and sends signal to the DVI port instead DP port. After resetting the BIOS I did not test DVI. I think however that no matter what mode the GPU goes to it happens after the POST so I still should have standard text screen on my monitor (correct) ?
