Hi, I'm building a new pc with Z97 Anniversary + i5-4690, but at power the fans run for a few seconds and restart boot on a infinite loop, some time after the first beep, some time first.
At this point I disassembled the pc and tried the following test only with motherboard + ram + psu + cpu : Z97 Anniversary + {i5-4690,i5-4670k (I have no other cpu 1150)} + { only one stick of ddr3 working well in other pc } + { Psu corsair CX750, other working psu 800w (other pc)}. No change, after 2-3 second system reboot and this does not occur when: with no ram installed mb work normal, three beeps repeated being turned on, no reboot with only one module ram in the fourth slot, system no boot (no beep) but it stay powered. This problem looks like http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2295705/built-desktop-boot-asrock-z97-4790k.html and mb bios is labeled 1.10 but the specifications on site is clear: (Cpu and bios compatibility for my mb)
any suggestions? P.s. Of course I would have tried to update bios... if I could access it. Edited by ildrugo - 24 Jul 2015 at 1:45am |

Welcome to the board.
Can you post the exact model number of the RAM, and was this a KIT ? Have you tried to reset the CPU checking for any bent pins. What are you using for IGPU port, HDMI, have you made sure monitor is set to HDMI and not DVI.

Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit, 1600MHz, 9-9-9-24, 1.5V, DIMM, 240-pin, 2 pezzi x 4GB Corsair VS2GB1333D3 ( one module for test ) Kingstone KVR1333D3N9/4G ( one module for test ) Edit: I have changed cpu with my 4670k, no problem with my pc. Vga is not connected, restart occurs before vga init. Edited by ildrugo - 24 Jul 2015 at 2:00am |

I would very carefully reset the CPU, making absolutely sure it's seated right and checking for bent pins.
The Kingston memory is listed as a QVL, and should work, try again in A1, and then B1, also making sure monitor is set to HDMI. Post back what happens.

What do you mean no problem with 4670 ? Ae you saying you can acess the UEFI with this CPU, if so you should flash the BIOS to 1.50 The corsair is not listed and might cause a problem.

So you have two 1150 boards and two 1150 CPU. Have you put the 4670 into the new Z97 anniversary and tried it. Do both not work on new board. Have you tried to clear CMOS on the board and removed the battery after you removed the power from it by unplugging the PSU and hitting the power button until fans spin. Also have you removed all header wires like LED to case except for power button.

Yes, I tried this reading that the problem could depend on the bios; nothing has changed. |

The PSU is haswell cert, the Kingston is QVL, CPU added from first BIOS.
So they work ( all hardware ) in a different system but not the new Z97 A. Return it if you can to place of purchase, if not try to RMA the board. Look at the top Rt of this site and you see support, this will take you too RMA. Maybe I missed something, see if you can wait a day, and maybe one of the mods see's what I missed. Sorry couldn't help any better and hope you get it solved quickly.
