Hi all-
Just built a new system with:
SSD was initially connected to port 1. On first boot, and with the stock (much older) BIOS, my SSD was not detected. BIOS would either show nothing, or SandForce{200026BB} disk with 0 capacity. I flashed the BIOS and no change. The symptoms sound exactly like another ASRock X370 motherboard issue in this thread: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4817&PN=1&title=x370-taichi-sata-ssd-goes-missing I then moved the disk to port 5 and Windows 10 booted right up. Now, as in the other thread, the system will run for several hours and then lock up as though it can't access the OS disk. Mouse moves, I can switch and even interact in some windows, but can't start any new processes, task manager doesn't work, etc. A reboot clears it up and the process repeats. This is very frustrating and I'm regretting going with this new platform. Is there anything I can do, or is there any fix in sight? |

Put your SSD on one of the last two SATA ports. They are are on a different controller (Asmedia) and should work.
Just wait for a new BIOS like me or RMA your board.... |

Following up on this. This turned out to be the motherboard not correctly implementing the DevSleep function in my Intel SSD. I was able to work around it by disabling DevSleep on the drive:
I had to perform the update while the drive was connected to port 5, but after I was able to move it to port 1.
